College Information:

Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT) was founded in 1970 and is the only higher education institution in the midlands of Ireland. The main campus is situated approximately 1.5 miles from the town centre on the Dublin Road.

The college has a student population of approximately 6,000 full-time students, with a high proportion of learners from overseas. AIT offers a wide range of programmes across its four schools of Business, Humanities, Engineering and Science.

AIT's campus has benefited from €100 million investment since 2000. New facilities added include an Engineering and Informatics Building, Postgraduate Research Hub, Nursing and Health Science Building, Indoor Sports Centre, as well as major improvements made to current facilities.
