College
UCC has a great reputation and if you get a degree here it will stand out to potential employers.

The college itself has a great atmosphere and the facilities are quite good. You have many opportunities to make new friends and experience new things. It's also located close to the city centre which is great for socialising as well as for the amenities such as shops, restaurants etc which are located nearby.
Area of Study
Prior to going to college I took an interest in programming and going into 1st year the course is challenging (in a good way!) and designing your own web app etc is immensely satisfying. Few other courses provide you practical skills that you can use right from the start
Campus Facilities
The main library campus is quite extensive and there is plenty of reading material related to the course content if you want to do some extra reading. Although there is not a huge need to use library books for any course work.

Review

Area of Study
Social sciences
Favourite: Social Policy, lovely department, amazing lecturers, excellent tutors, everyone is so kind and helpful.
Least favourite: Social Practice and the Social Professions. The lecturers were unhelpful, difficult to deal with, poor at teaching and completely unsympathetic
Campus Facilities
Library is not big enough for the amount of students in the college and there isn't nearly enough sockets. The range of material is excellent for my course. The smart card system is annoying and inconvenient for students, especially since they removed the ability to top up by coin. It should be limited to library services and printing only.

City Life/Social Scene
Cork is an amazing city, simple as.
Student Services
The smart card is infuriating and stupid, all other services are fab.
Clubs and Societies
We have something for everyone. I particularly love the college feminist society and LGBT society.

Review

College
UCC itself is wonderful. It's a highly respected University internationally. UCC was a very relaxed university I found, I really do miss it's atmosphere!
Area of Study
I'm doing Law and French. No regrets about choosing this course - it'd still be my number one choice if I was filling out the CAO again.
Campus Facilities
I find the facilities very good. But then again I do the majority of my studying at my apartment. The library/computer suites always become crowded around exam time and can be difficult to get a place to work!
Accommodation
If you can afford it then I'd recommend getting student accommodation in 1st year rather than moving into private rented housing. Its much easier to to make friends and settle into life at college. The only downside can be the price which could be much higher than private renting.
City Life/Social Scene
Cork's a beautiful city and I'd rank it right up there with Galway as being the best Irish college city
Clubs and Societies
Clubs and societies in UCC are brilliant and there's always something to do
