What can I say...it's Trinity College! But apart from it's reputation and prestege, it's vibrant city centre college, has a wide range of activities and societies to get involved in. There should also be some speakers, debates etc relevant to your course throughout the year
Area of Study
I'm studying Law. It's a tough course and took time for me to settle into it and realise I made the right choice! It requires a logical mind and independent thought. Career wise there are plenty of options available to me. I wont be restricted to just going into practice as a solicitor or barrister.
The libraries are excellent and there is loads of study space. My one criticism of the libraries were that the opening hours could be better, especially at exam time.
I'm from Dublin so I lived at home during my first 2 years in college. This is maybe my only regret for not going to college in NUIG (which I seriously considered at the time). But I had friends living in student accommondation and I spent loads of time there. In my opinion its the best place to socialise and meet other first years
Clubs and Societies
There is a huge variety of clubs and societies. And it's another great way of meeting people in first year. I'm an active member of the Law Society. There are loads of events to attend throughout the year.
I wouldn't exactly be the most 'sporty' of person so probably not in the best position to comment on this. From from what I see and hear around campus what you will get as Trinity is as good as any other college in Ireland!
